About Our Place

We were drawn to the Te Muna valley. It’s a very special place. On the high alluvial terrace of Martinborough’s Huangarua river, its deep gravels, low rainfall, warm days and cool nights make it ideal for growing pinot noir -- we think it is amongst the best in the world, and that’s reflected in our wines.
People ask “why “Big Sky”?”. Well, just because it is … those cloudless summer days out here that seem to go on forever, or those clear clear nights that are more silver than black, with the stars nearly close enough to touch.
